This report aims to present national-level data on the state of hate speech in Albania. Although the terminology
and phenomenon are relatively new in the country, hate speech remains a concern among both the general
population and groups targeted by hate speech.
The report will offer insights into perceptions, experiences, and trust in the institutions responsible for
addressing hate speech, seeking to fill the information gap regarding how this issue is perceived by individuals.
The study includes a sample of 1,000 randomly selected participants, supplemented by a boost sample of 213
respondents, an additional group intentionally selected from LGBTI+ and Roma/Egyptian communities to
ensure sufficient representation of populations more frequently exposed to hate speech.
